LICENSING

Free to use does not mean one blanket licence.

The SS compiler and runtime are proprietary software distributed free of charge. Packages, applications, editor integrations, and third-party dependencies retain their own licensing records.

What applies to each component

Compiler and runtime

Proprietary software distributed free of charge. This website does not assign an SPDX identifier or an open-source licence to it.

Current SS package manifests

Every package manifest discovered in the authoritative SS package set currently declares MIT and source distribution. A catalogue entry must still present the licence from that specific package version.

Applications and redistribution

Application and package redistribution follows the applicable component records. Commercial package licensing is publisher-controlled and independent of free package use.

Third-party software

Material UI, Next.js, Apache Answer, .NET, and other dependencies retain their own notices and terms; they do not change the SS compiler licence.

Package licence verification

An .sspkg archive carries a canonical manifest, public API declaration, dependency policy, integrity hashes, and licensing metadata. The public catalogue will read those versioned records rather than applying one unverified statement to every future package.

Evidence boundary

The historical SS package suite is reported as MIT-licensed and every currently discovered package manifest was checked before this page was written. Future uploads remain subject to per-version review.
